Job summary

Leffler Consulting, LLC in Springfield, VA seeks cleared Audit Consultants (entry and junior levels) to support audit remediation, risk management, and internal controls development onsite. An active TS/SCI clearance is required.

Responsibilities include preparing internal and external position papers, ensuring GAAP/USSGL compliance, analyzing financial data, building an internal control framework, and supporting audit remediation across DoD/IC programs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting.
• Entry level: 1-year relevant work experience.
• Junior level: 4 years of accounting, financial policy, or financial management experience with a bachelor’s degree in accounting. Or, a master’s degree in accounting with a minimum of 2 years of federal financial management experience in roles such as an accountant, financial auditor, financial analyst, or financial system analyst.

Responsibilities

• Prepare internal and external position papers reflecting accounting activities and operations of the program.
• Determine if transactions comply with US GAAP and USSGL.
• Analyze financial data to detect trends and propose corrective actions for GL and subsidiary accounts.
• Analyze trends/anomalies to assess effects on GL and subsidiary accounts.
• Develop an internal control framework to mitigate risk and be operationally effective.
• Develop special reports using current/historical financial data to improve reporting effectiveness.
• Develop audit methodologies for asset portfolio existence, completeness, and valuation.
• Perform other duties to support corporate initiatives.
