Job summary

HOLT Truck Centers is seeking an entry-level Level 1 Technician in Austin, TX to perform routine maintenance and basic inspections on heavy-duty trucks.

The role operates under supervision, requires a HS diploma or technical training, and supports safety-focused work with VBL values. You will gain hands-on experience, document service tasks, and collaborate with the service team to ensure safe, reliable fleet operations.

Qualifications

• Entry-level technician with up to 1 year of experience or relevant knowledge.
• Follows instructions and pre-established guidelines under supervision.
• Must complete safety training and adapt to VBL culture.

Responsibilities

• Model and reinforce VBL tools and processes to align with Vision, Values, and Mission.
• Troubleshoot and diagnose basic engine malfunctions with supervision.
• Perform basic engine and related repairs on trucks and trailers with supervision.
• Provide quality control inspections including road testing.
• Use computers and software to diagnose and reprogram engines.
• Complete service reports, timecards, parts requisitions and returns.
• Interpret information from manuals, online resources, and service bulletins.
• Operate equipment with required licenses and certificates.
• Adhere to safety policies and company procedures.
• Maintain tools and equipment in good, clean condition.
• Communicate progress to supervisor and customers as needed.
• Work additional hours to meet workload demands.
• Present a professional image to customers and coworkers.
• Complete all required safety training.
