Job summary

Asplundh Tree Expert, LLC seeks a Trimmer Trainee to trim and remove trees and debris, operate equipment, and support crew safety in outdoor settings. This entry-level role requires physical endurance and willingness to work from elevated positions, with on-the-job training and potential union involvement.

Responsibilities include loading trucks, maintaining tools, and assisting in training new staff while ensuring a safe work site and adherence to company policies.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Able to work with hands above head for extended periods.
• Must walk, climb and work from ladders at various heights on uneven surfaces.
• No fear of heights.
• Willing to join and pay local union dues.

Responsibilities

• Trims and removes trees, branches, and trunk sections.
• Operates and services all required tools and equipment.
• Cuts and splits large debris into manageable pieces.
• Sprays areas with equipment to prevent regrowth.
• Loads and unloads trucks and feeds brush into woodchipper.
• Repairs minor damage to lawns, fences and walkways.
• Maintains tool, truck, and equipment condition and cleanliness.
• Sets up barriers and signals to protect employees and the public.
