Job summary

Pearce is hiring an Entry Level MCE Wind Technician to support field and on-site work with a strong emphasis on Safety, Quality, and Efficiency. The role includes up-tower repairs on wind turbine components and will require 100% travel.

You will read schematics, work with generators, converters, controllers, and electrical systems, and collaborate with vendors and customers while documenting all tasks for Safety and Quality.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of direct wind turbine platform experience.
• Direct turbine experience required.
• Ability to read schematics from various Wind Turbine manufacturers.
• Main Component Exchange (MCE) experience required with lifting operations knowledge.
• Hold turbine manufacturer certifications.
• Knowledge of generators, converters, controllers, and electrical equipment.
• Ability to recognize potential issues and major faults.

Responsibilities

• Support lifting operations of equipment at heights over 250’.
• Oversee lifting operations following skills verification and create lifting plans.
• Conduct safe and efficient repairs to wind turbine electrical systems.
• Operate under Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO) and may serve as Authorized Person.
• Conduct pre-task planning, JHAs, RA, and daily safety discussions.
• Interact with vendors and customers professionally.
• Document all work and provide feedback to Safety and Quality teams.
