Job summary

Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) seeks an entry-level Transportation Tech 1 in Baxley, GA. Under direct supervision, you will provide technical support across maintenance, construction, intermodal, planning, utilities, surveying, environmental or traffic areas.

The position requires a high school diploma or GED, a willingness to learn, and the ability to operate basic equipment. The role includes taking the Construction Technician test and supporting field teams on day shifts.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED.
Ability to learn to perform routine support duties for assigned program area (i.e. construction, surveying, traffic operations, lab testing or data collection).
Ability to learn to operate equipment and/or instruments as required.
Ability to assist in data gathering or collect data as requested.
Ability to perform computations such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division correctly.

Responsibilities

Provide entry-level technical support in one or more areas: Maintenance, Construction, Intermodal, Planning, Utilities, Surveying, Environmental or Traffic.
Selected applicant will be required to take the Construction Technician test administered by the GA Dept. of Transportation.
