AMT Engineering in Columbus, OH is seeking an Entry Level Transportation Engineer to join our Transportation team upon graduation in May 2027. You will work on challenging projects and gain hands-on experience under supervision.

This role offers a hybrid schedule, competitive salary, and opportunities for advancement. Ideal candidates have a BS in Civil Engineering and an EIT or ability to obtain within 6–12 months.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited BS in Civil Engineering required.
• Engineering-in-Training certification or ability to obtain within 6–12 months.
• Internship/work experience with municipal/state/transport projects preferred.
• Experience with AutoCAD Civil3D and Bentley tools preferred.
• Knowledge of civil design and surveying concepts; MS Office skills.
• Strong oral and written communication and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Support projects including data collection, existing condition analyses, and evaluation.
• Develop horizontal/vertical alignments, design cross sections, curb ramps, roadway modeling, grading, site plans.
• Prepare erosion and sediment control plans, stormwater, ROW, utility relocation and permit drawings.

AMT is growing and is seeking a highly motivated Entry Level Transportation Engineer to join our growing Transportation team of design professionals in our Columbus, OH office upon graduation in May 2027.

This is an excellent opportunity to work on challenging projects, develop your career, and seek advancement as a Transportation Engineer. In addition to supporting projects in their assigned office, the candidate may be involved with other AMT offices and project opportunities.

We provide an Excellent Work / Life Balance and an opportunity to work a Hybrid (Combination of Office and Remote) schedule.

Responsibilities

• Support a variety of projects which may involve collection of data, existing condition and alternative analysis evaluation for engineering reports
• Development of horizontal and vertical alignments, performing cross section and super-elevation design, roadside barrier design, ADA curb ramp design, roadway modeling, grading plans, development of site plans, and providing design support for erosion and sediment control plans
• Stormwater management plans, right-of-way plans, utility relocation plans, permit application drawings, and traffic related plans.

Qualifications

• BS in Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited institution
• Engineering-in-Training Certification (or ability to obtain in 6-12 months) preferred
• Prior internship or work experience preferred, experience with Municipal or State/US Department of Transportation projects a plus
• Experience with Autodesk AutoCAD/Civil3D and/or Bentley Microstation/InRoads or Open Roads is preferred
• Knowledge of civil engineering design and construction surveying concepts preferredExperience with MS Office products including Word and Excel
• Ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships with co-workers, project managers, supervisors, and other team members
• Excellent oral and written communication skills;
