Job summary

Kosmos Group LLC in Los Angeles is seeking an entry-level Transmission Line Engineer to support our Transmission & Distribution practice in a hybrid role. The position requires three days in the office and two days from home.

Responsibilities include routing and design of lines using PLS tools, modeling lines, and assisting with design criteria and materials procurement. Strong communication and math skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
• Internship related to engineering.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Ability to travel domestically for project support.

Responsibilities

• Route and design transmission/distribution lines using PLS-CADD.
• Model existing lines and poles with PLS-CADD/PLS-Pole.
• Perform conductor selection, loading, sag and clearance calculations.
• Assist with design criteria, basis, specs and procurement of materials.
• Develop project estimates and perform quality control reviews.
• Create construction documents and plan/profile drawings.
• Respond to RFIs and design inquiries.
• Maintain project documentation and adherence to design practices.
• Other duties as assigned.
