Vanasse Hangen Brustlin Inc. (VHB) seeks an Entry Level Traffic Engineer in its Wethersfield, CT office to join the Traffic Operations group.

You will collaborate with transportation planners and engineers on municipal, state, and higher education projects, gaining exposure across a broad market spectrum. You will contribute to traffic impact studies, signal timing plans, and design plans using AutoCAD or MicroStation, while building expertise in Synchro, Vissim, and HCS.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
• 0-1 years of engineering experience.
• Experience with AutoCAD and/or MicroStation is a plus.
• Experience with Synchro, Vissim, and/or HCS is a plus.

Responsabilités

• Work within a team of professionals in developing traffic and transportation planning and engineering solutions for various projects.
• Conduct traffic impact studies.
• Develop sign, pavement marking, and traffic signal design plans in MicroStation and/or AutoCAD.
• Develop traffic signal timing plans.
• Prepare written documents and assemble reports to convey findings and recommendations.
• Collect and tabulate traffic data.
• Perform intersection and corridor operational analyses using Synchro, SimTraffic, HCS, Sidra, Vissim, and other tools.
• Analyze, develop, and evaluate traffic improvements.
• Perform field equipment testing and verification at field sites.

About the Position

VHB's Wethersfield, CT office is looking for an Entry Level Traffic Engineer to join our Traffic Operations group. The selected candidate will work with a team of transportation planners and engineers on a variety of public, private and institutional projects within broad cross-section of markets, including municipal, state agencies, and higher education.

Responsibilities

• Working within a team of professionals in developing traffic and transportation planning and engineering solutions for a multitude of transportation projects
• Traffic impact studies
• Developing sign, pavement marking, and traffic signal design plans in MicroStation and/or AutoCAD
• Developing traffic signal timing plans
• Preparing written documents, summarizing data and analysis, and assembling reports to convey findings and recommendations
• Collecting and tabulating traffic data
• Performing intersection and corridor operational analyses using Synchro, SimTraffic, HCS, Sidra, Vissim, and other analysis tools
• Analyzing, developing, and evaluating of traffic improvements
• Performing field equipment testing, utility, and infrastructure verification (i.e., taking measurements and pictures at field sites)

The full-time annual base salary range for this position, located in Connecticut, is $81,000 to $83,000. The base salary offered will be determined based on job-related factors, including geographic location, internal equity, experience, credentials, skills, education, work schedule, and other factors permitted by law. The posted salary range reflects base pay only. Additional compensation and benefits available to eligible employees are outlined in our Total Rewards Program.

Annual base salary is one component of VHB's Total Rewards package. In addition to base pay, eligible employees may receive annual incentive compensation bonuses, spot bonuses, and merit-based salary increases, providing opportunities to increase earnings beyond base pay.
