Job summary

Vanasse Hangen Brustlin Inc. (VHB) is seeking an Entry-Level Traffic Engineer for the 2027 graduate cohort in our Tampa, FL office.

You will work with a team on transportation planning and engineering projects across municipal, state, higher education, healthcare, and federal settings. Responsibilities include multimodal studies, safety analyses, demand analysis, and roadway/intersection design at a conceptual level.

Qualifications

• BS or MS in Civil Engineering.
• 0-1 years of professional transportation planning, engineering, or consulting experience.
• EIT preferred.
• Experience with AutoCAD a plus.
• Experience with Synchro, Vissim, VISUM and/or HCS a plus.
• Experience with ArcGIS a plus.
• Experience with Travel Demand Model a plus.

Responsibilities

• Work within a team of professionals in developing traffic and transportation planning and engineering solutions for urban projects.
• Perform multimodal transportation and traffic impact studies and safety analyses.
• Research and interpret transportation data, zoning and land use ordinances, demographics.
• Prepare planning documents and traffic study reports.
• Collect and tabulate traffic and parking data.
• Develop, analyze, and evaluate traffic improvements and countermeasures.
• Produce roadway, intersection, and multimodal street designs at a conceptual level.
