Job summary

Jackson Hewitt Tax Service Inc. seeks a Seasonal Entry Level Tax Preparer to guide clients through tax forms, explain results, and complete multiyear returns with accuracy. You will file returns online, print copies for review, and sign and e-file with IRS and state agencies.

Responsibilities include interviewing clients in person, preparing returns, driving client growth, and offering additional services. Training is provided and PTIN certification is required for the role.

Qualifications

• PTIN Certification required.
• Experience in a fast-paced environment preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills required.
• Basic computer skills and comfort with software and online forms.
• Sales and/or marketing experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Conduct face-to-face tax interviews with clients.
• Prepare complete and accurate tax returns.
• Help grow the business by increasing client retention and offering additional services.
• Provide clients with IRS audit support when needed.
• Prepare and file all relevant tax forms in compliance with policies and laws.
• Process client payments and ensure timely deposits.
• Support marketing and business generation efforts.
• Provide clients with clear information to ensure correct form completion.
• Answer client questions through the national call center routing system.
• Offer tax planning guidance to clients for future returns.
• Resolve client complaints or escalate to supervisor as appropriate.
• Collaborate with teammates to support office priorities.
