Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent (required).
• Completion of a Surgical Assistant Program (required).

Responsibilities

• Assists as first or second assist on cases and follows sterile technique.
• Maintains sterile field and instruments; participates in counts.
• Protects patient information and contributes to Universal Protocol.
• Prepares OR, procures equipment, and arranges sterile setup.
• Positions patient, clips skin, catheterization, draping.
• Under direct supervision, assists with suturing, wound closure, and dressings.
