Job summary

LUZCO Technologies is seeking a new graduate Electrical Engineer to join our substation engineering team in St. Louis.

This role targets May 2026 graduates eager to start a career in power and substation design with mentorship and real project exposure. You will work on developing designs, layouts, grounding, and raceway plans for HV substations (32.4-230kV), with hands-on field experience and collaboration across disciplines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering is listed in the requirements.
• FE exam preferred but not required.
• Familiarity with power systems, substations, or electrical design is a plus.
• Exposure to NEC, NESC, IEEE, NEMA, and ANSI standards is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Assist with developing and modifying physical substation designs for high-voltage substations.
• Support the layout of major substation equipment including transformers, circuit breakers, switches, and bus systems.
• Assist with substation grounding designs, including ground grids and equipment grounding.
• Develop raceway layouts, conduit, cable tray, and trench systems.
• Support design and layout of auxiliary AC and DC power systems.
• Prepare and update bills of materials and equipment lists.
• Collaborate with engineers across disciplines to coordinate requirements.
• Participate in construction, testing, and commissioning activities to gain hands-on field experience.
• Apply field markups to drawings and incorporate revisions into as-built documentation.
• Travel up to 25% as project needs.
• Take on additional responsibilities across project phases.
