Job summary

LUZCO Technologies, LLC. is seeking a new graduate Electrical Engineer to join our substation engineering team in St. Louis. This role offers hands-on design experience in high‑voltage substations with mentorship and real project exposure from day one.

You will contribute to layout, grounding, raceway, and auxiliary power-system design, collaborating with engineers across disciplines. Travel up to 25% may be required to support project needs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
• FE exam preferred but not required.
• Familiarity with power systems, substations, or electrical design is a plus.
• Exposure to NEC, NESC, IEEE, NEMA, and ANSI standards is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Assist with developing and modifying physical substation designs, including equipment layouts, plan and section views, elevations, and electrical details for high-voltage substations.
• Support the layout of major substation equipment, including power transformers, circuit breakers, disconnect switches, instrument transformers, surge arresters, and bus systems.
• Assist with substation grounding designs, including ground grids and equipment grounding.
• Assist with developing raceway layouts, conduit, cable tray, and trench systems.
• Prepare and update bills of materials, equipment lists, and other engineering documentation.
• Collaborate with engineers across disciplines to coordinate physical designs with protection, control, civil, structural, and electrical requirements.
