Job summary

LUZCO is seeking a new graduate Electrical Engineer to join our substation engineering team and start a career in power and substation design with hands-on experience and mentorship.

Ideal candidates are May 2026 Electrical Engineering graduates looking for real project exposure, design support across disciplines, and growth within a people-first culture. Travel up to 25% is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering required or equivalent.
• FE exam preferred but not required.
• Experience or coursework in power systems, substations, or electrical design is a plus.
• Familiarity with NEC, NESC, IEEE, NEMA, ANSI beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Assist with developing and modifying physical substation designs, including layouts and electrical details for high-voltage substations (32.4-230kV).
• Support layout of major substation equipment: transformers, breakers, disconnects, instrument transformers, surge arresters, bus systems.
• Assist with substation grounding designs and line/grounding connections.
• Develop rigid and strain bus layouts and conductor arrangements.
• Support design of substation structures, foundations, and supports.
• Develop raceway layouts including conduit and trench systems.
• Assist with auxiliary AC/DC power systems design and documentation.
• Prepare bills of materials and equipment lists; coordinate revisions with engineers.
