Job summary

Volunteers of America Texas is seeking a full-time counselor to support individuals in our Texas substance use treatment programs in Houston. You will conduct initial intake screenings, orient new clients, and develop personalized treatment plans while delivering individual and group counseling and case management.

A valid LCDC license is required along with a Bachelor's degree in social work or a related field. A Texas driver’s license with a clean MVR is also necessary.

Qualifications

• LCDC license required.
• Bachelor's degree in social work or related field preferred.
• Valid Texas Driver's License with clear MVR and ability to be insured.

Responsibilities

• Conducts initial intake screening and assessment for treatment needs.
• Provides orientation for individuals referred to the program.
• Creates individual treatment plans and reviews progress.
• Delivers individual and group counseling and case management services.
