TEKsystems is hiring an entry-level Communications Technician I – Structured Cabling Technician in Bluffdale, UT. You will install, route, support, label, and terminate low-voltage cabling for commercial environments, assisting with telecom room builds, rack installations, and cable management systems.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 0-1 year of related telecommunications/structured cabling experience preferred.
• Ability to read blueprints/drawings and interpret specifications.
• Attention to safety and site procedures is essential.

Responsibilities

• Install and route voice and data cabling in commercial environments.
• Build and organize telecommunications closets, racks, patch panels, and cross-connects.
• Install cable support systems and perform low-voltage terminations.
• Complete fire-stopping and cable penetration work per code requirements.
• Label, document, and maintain accurate cabling records.
• Follow all safety standards on job sites.
• Work from ladders, above ceilings, and in active construction environments.
• Support installation and maintenance of critical voice/data network infrastructure.
