Job summary

Jacobs in Corvallis, OR is seeking an entry level Structural Engineer to support water and wastewater projects under supervision. You will perform design tasks, analyses, and develop drawings and calculations for conventional design and design/build projects.

You will build a foundation in structural engineering fundamentals while collaborating with an expert team in a hybrid work environment. A Master’s in Civil Engineering and EIT/EI licensure (or progress toward PE/SE) are required.

Qualifications

• Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering with emphasis in structural engineering.
• Engineer in Training (EIT) or Engineering Intern (EI) licensure and desire to be on track to obtain Professional Engineer (PE) and Structural Engineer (SE) licensure.
• Strong analytical, conceptual, and organizational skills.
• Strong communication (written and verbal), problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.
• Experience with Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, OneNote, Teams).
• Must live within commutable distance of the Corvallis office.
• Authorization to work in the United States without visa sponsorship, now or in the future

Responsibilities

• Analyze, design, and communicate requirements through drawings and models.
• Perform progressively complex structural calculations and analyses during design development.
• Prepare plans, calculations, and cost estimates for projects.
• Contribute to technical writing and construction drawing markup/detailing.
