Job summary
WSP is seeking an Early Career Structural Engineer to join the Troy, NY office and contribute to local building and infrastructure design and construction projects. You will assist with data collection, site assessments, and basic engineering tasks under supervision, helping ensure safety and soundness across projects.
The role emphasizes development through training, collaboration with engineers, and exposure to standard design software.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Structural or Civil Engineering required.
- 0–1 year of post-education experience desired.
- Strong research skills and analytical mindset.
- Familiarity with design/build processes and codes.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- Proficiency with technical writing and common software tools.
- Experience with design software is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Assist with collecting, compiling, and analyzing project data from sites, surveys, blueprints, and GIS.
- Support basic structural engineering tasks for design and construction.
- Prepare documentation and ensure quality and safety standards.
- Help verify site characteristics and structural soundness against loads.
- Produce accurate records using drawings, 2D/3D analyses, and logs.
