Job summary

TYLin Buildings in Chicago is seeking an Entry-Level Structural Engineer to join our team. The role focuses on assisting with structural design and analysis for diverse building projects, supporting drawings, site investigations, and field reviews to ensure constructible, high-quality outcomes.

Ideal candidates hold a civil/architectural engineering degree with 0–3 years of experience, familiarity with REVIT Structure, and knowledge of structural analysis tools (RISA/SAP/RAM).

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Architectural Engineering (with a focus on structures preferred).
• Master’s Degree would be considered an asset.
• Passing of E.I.T. exam preferred.
• 0-3 years of relevant experience in execution of commercial, institutional, or residential projects preferred.
• Familiarity with REVIT Structure preferred.
• Familiarity with computer analysis software (e.g. RISA, SAP, RAM) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Work with the project team to do the structural design and analysis for a wide range of buildings projects, involving steel, concrete, masonry, wood, and archaic building systems from conceptual and preliminary stages of design through to completion.
• Assisting in the preparation of drawings and specifications.
• Conducting site investigations to document existing conditions.
• Perform field review for projects under construction.
• Other responsibilities as assigned.
