  • Willing to travel for project activities.

Responsibilities

  • Support structural design work for industrial, manufacturing, distribution, and commercial facilities.
  • Collaborate with licensed engineers, architects, and other disciplines to develop design solutions.
  • Create and assemble complete sets of structural design documents.
  • Develop knowledge of seismic force resisting systems for high seismic design categories.
  • Support gravity and lateral load path calculations and structural systems analysis.
  • Develop specifications and assist with field condition assessments.
  • Assist in designing structural systems for new and existing facilities.
  • Use AutoCAD, Revit, and structural analysis software for design documentation and project delivery.
  • Monitor code changes and industry standards.
  • Travel for installation, start-up, and meetings.

Job description

  • Support structural design work for industrial, manufacturing, distribution, and commercial facilities
  • Collaborate with licensed structural engineers, architects, civil, mechanical, and electrical engineers to develop technical design solutions
  • Work on-site and remotely with project teams
  • Work under the direction of lead licensed structural engineers
  • Create and assemble complete sets of structural design documents
  • Develop knowledge of seismic force resisting systems in high seismic design categories
  • Support gravity and lateral load path calculations and structural systems analysis
  • Develop specifications and assist with field condition assessments
  • Assist in designing structural systems for new and existing industrial facilities
  • Use AutoCAD, Revit, and structural analysis software for design documentation and project delivery
  • Monitor state and national code changes and industry standards
  • Provide responsive technical support and execute day-to-day project activities
  • Travel for installation and start-up activities, client and company meetings, trainings, seminars, forums, and conventions
Requirements
  • Bachelor of Science in civil engineering from an ABET-accredited institution
  • Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification
  • Minimum of 1 year as an Engineer-in-Training in industrial structural design and engineering, or 2 years of relevant structural engineering co-op or internship experience
  • Experience with 3D structural analysis software, including RISA 3D or SAFE
  • Proficiency using AutoCAD, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Word
  • Ability to travel for project requirements, including installation and start-up activities, client and company meetings, trainings, seminars, forums, and conventions
  • Preferred: Master of Science in structural engineering
  • Preferred: Proficiency using Revit
  • Preferred: Experience in structural design for food and beverage, pharmaceutical, life science, or consumer products manufacturing and distribution facilities
