Job summary

Degenkolb Engineers is seeking an Entry-Level Structural Engineer/Designer to join our teams across multiple West Coast and Midwest offices. You will work with licensed engineers on analysis, design, and contract documents, with exposure to client interactions and site visits.

You will develop technical knowledge through mentorship, challenging assignments, and a path toward PE licensure, while contributing to project delivery and quality in a collaborative, growth-focused environment.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in structural engineering is strongly preferred.
• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering with 1–2 years of highly technical design experience may be considered.
• Core technical proficiency demonstrated via advanced coursework or project experience in steel design, reinforced concrete design, structural analysis, structural dynamics, earthquake engineering (West Coast).
• Undergraduate GPA of 3.40 or higher; strong graduate coursework performance.

Responsibilities

• Perform structural analysis and design tasks under licensed engineers.
• Produce accurate, organized contract deliverables and documentation.
• Engage in client meetings, prepare technical documents, and communicate progress clearly.
• Participate in site visits to observe conditions and connect design to construction.
