Job summary

Richard Adams Engineers & Consultants (RAE) in Richmond Heights, MO seeks a Structural Designer to join our team. You will help prepare preliminary and final structural designs for projects nationwide, using AutoCAD and RAM/SAP2000/RISA tools as needed.

Qualifications

• BS in Civil Engineering with a Structural emphasis and a minimum 3.2 cumulative GPA.
• Entry level to 2 years of structural engineering building design experience.
• Knowledge of AutoCAD required. Strong Excel skills required. Revit experience preferred, not required.
• Knowledge of analysis and design programs such as RAM Structural System, SAP2000, RISA is helpful but not required.

Responsibilities

• Work with project managers during estimating to optimize creative structural solutions.
• Prepare preliminary and structural building design for projects across the country.
• Produce structural calculations for construction documents and permits.
• Coordinate with design staff, project managers, architects, and clients to find efficient structural solutions.
• Provide peer reviews of drawings to ensure accuracy and cost/time savings.

Richard Adams Engineers & Consultants (RAE) is a full-service structural engineering firm established in 1993. RAE offers a full-range of professional engineering services, including project planning and feasibility studies, conceptual design, design development, construction document preparation, and construction phase services.

We are looking for a Structural Designer to join our team of experts in our office in Richmond Heights, MO. A Day in the Life:

• Work with construction project managers during the estimating process to optimize creative structural solutions that align to the project needs
• Prepare preliminary and structural buildingdesign for projects across the country
• Produce structural calculations for implementation with technical design/drafting staff during preparation of construction documents for permit submittal as well as construction
• Communicate with technical design/drafting staff. Coordinate with construction project managers, architect, civil, mechanical, clients and other project team members to find creative solutions to structural building elements
• Provide peer reviews of design drawings to ensure accuracy and find creative solutions or alternative design suggestions to save on cost and/or design schedule
