ARCO a Family of Construction Companies seeks a Structural Designer to join our Richmond Heights, MO office. The role focuses on structural design, analysis, and coordination with PMs, architects, and drafting staff to deliver design-build projects nationwide.

Qualifications

• BS in Civil Engineering with a Structural emphasis, minimum 3.2 GPA.
• Entry level to 2 years of structural engineering building design experience.
• Knowledge of AutoCAD required.
• Strong Excel skills required.
• Revit experience preferred, not required.
• RAM Structural System, SAP2000, RISA knowledge helpful but not required.

Responsibilities

• Work with construction project managers during estimating to optimize structural solutions.
• Prepare preliminary and structural building design for projects across the country.
• Produce structural calculations for construction documents and permits.
• Coordinate with design staff, PMs, architect, and clients to find creative solutions.
• Provide peer reviews of drawings to ensure accuracy and cost/design schedule savings.

A Day In The Life

• Work with construction project managers during the estimating process to optimize creative structural solutions that align to the project needs
• Prepare preliminary and structural building design for projects across the country
• Produce structural calculations for implementation with technical design/drafting staff during preparation of construction documents for permit submittal as well as construction
• Communicate with technical design/drafting staff. Coordinate with construction project managers, architect, civil, mechanical, clients and other project team members to find creative solutions to structural building elements
• Provide peer reviews of design drawings to ensure accuracy and find creative solutions or alternative design suggestions to save on cost and/or design schedule

Necessary Qualifications

• BS in Civil Engineering with a Structural emphasis and a minimum 3.2 cumulative GPA
• Entry level to 2 years of structural engineering building design experience
• Knowledge of AutoCAD required. Strong Excel skills required. Revit experience preferred, not required
• Knowledge of analysis and design programs such as RAM Structural System, SAP2000, RISA is helpful but not required
