Richard Adams Engineers & Consultants (RAE) seeks a Structural Engineering Intern to join our team onsite in Richmond Heights, MO. You’ll gain hands-on experience, contribute to design work, and receive mentorship from seasoned engineers.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in a bachelor’s degree program in Structural Engineering, Civil Engineering or related discipline.
• GPA at least 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.
• Ability to work 40 hours per week.
• internships or co-op experience preferred but not required.
• AutoCAD experience preferred.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparing preliminary and structural building design for projects across the country.
• Produce structural calculations for implementation with design/drafting staff during construction documents and permitting.
• Coordinate with project team members to find creative solutions for structural elements.
• Work with a mentor to review drawings and suggest cost-saving or schedule-saving design alternatives.

We're looking for a Structural Engineering Intern to join our team of experts onsite in Richmond Heights, MO. A DAY IN THE LIFE

• Assist in preparing preliminary and structural building design for projects across the country
• Help to produce structural calculations for implementation with technical design/drafting staff during preparation of construction documents for permit submittal as well as construction
• Communicate with technical design/drafting staff. Coordinate with construction project managers, architect, civil, mechanical, clients and other project team members to find creative solutions to structural building elements
• Working with a mentor to provide peer reviews of design drawings to ensure accuracy and find creative solutions or alternative design suggestions to save on cost and/or design schedule

Necessary Qualifications

• Enrolled in Bachelor’s degree program in Structural Engineering, Civil Engineering or related discipline
• Minimum Grade Point Average of 3.0 out of 4.0
• Ability to work 40 hours per week
• Previous Internship or Co-op experience preferred but not required
• Internship or classwork experience in AutoCAD preferred
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a strong work ethic
