Job summary

Mead & Hunt is seeking an Entry-Level Stormwater Engineer to join our water resources team in Portland, Oregon. The role supports design of stormwater management facilities, drinking water and sewer projects, and related analyses.

The successful candidate will hold an ABET-accredited bachelor's degree in civil or environmental engineering. EIT certification or active pursuit is preferred, with internship experience and familiarity with hydraulic/hydrologic software a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil or environmental engineering from an ABET accredited program.
• ABET accreditation required or expected.
• EIT certification or active pursuit encouraged.
• Relevant internship experience in water resources or stormwater projects.
• Experience with stormwater design and related civil infrastructure projects (water/wastewater).

Responsibilities

Mead & Hunt, a nationally recognized professional services consulting firm, has a full-time position available for an Engineer in Training to join our collaborative and innovative water resources team as a Entry-Level Stormwater Engineer.

Responsibilities include:

• Assisting with the design of stormwater management facilities and other water resources (drinking water and/or sewer systems) projects
• Collaborating with project managers and senior engineers
• Assisting with the research, planning, and calculations
• Supporting preparation of reports, technical memoranda, cost estimates, specifications, design plans, studies, and permits

Some travel will be required

The successful candidate must have:

• A bachelor’s degree (or higher) in civil or environmental engineering from an ABET accredited college or university

The ideal candidate will have experience with any/all of the following:

• EIT certification
• Relevant internship experience
• Assisting with the design of stormwater management systems
• Assisting with the design of drinking water and/or sewer systems
• Assisting Preparation of plans, specifications and cost estimates for civil infrastructure projects (emphasis on water resources projects)
• Knowledge of software programs associated with hydraulic and/or hydrologic modeling (such as HydroCAD, PCSWMM, HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, and WWHM)
• Microsoft Office, AutoCAD Civil 3D and ArcGIS software
