Job summary

Mead & Hunt, Inc. is seeking an Entry-Level Stormwater Engineer to join our water resources team in Portland. The role focuses on assisting with stormwater facility designs and water resources projects, collaborating with project managers and senior engineers.

The ideal candidate has a civil/environmental engineering degree (ABET-accredited) and may hold or be pursuing an EIT. Internship experience and knowledge of hydraulic modeling tools are a plus, with strong communication and organizational

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in civil or environmental engineering from an ABET-accredited college or university.
• EIT certification preferred.
• Relevant internship experience.
• Experience in design of stormwater management systems.
• Experience in design of drinking water and/or sewer systems is a plus.
• Knowledge of hydraulic/hydrologic modeling software (HydroCAD, PCSWMM, HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, WWHM).
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, AutoCAD Civil 3D and ArcGIS.

Overview

Mead & Hunt, a nationally recognized professional services consulting firm, has a full-time position available for an Engineer in Training to join our collaborative and innovative water resources team as an Entry-Level Stormwater Engineer.

Responsibilities

• Assisting with the design of stormwater management facilities and other water resources (drinking water and/or sewer systems) projects
• Collaborating with project managers and senior engineers
• Assisting with the research, planning, and calculations
• Supporting preparation of reports, technical memoranda, cost estimates, specifications, design plans, studies, and permits

Some travel will be required

Qualifications

• A bachelor\'s degree (or higher) in civil or environmental engineering from an ABET accredited college or university

Ideal candidate will have experience with any/all of the following

• EIT certification
• Relevant internship experience
• Assisting with the design of stormwater management systems
• Assisting with the design of drinking water and/or sewer systems
• Assisting preparation of plans, specifications and cost estimates for civil infrastructure projects (emphasis on water resources projects)
• Knowledge of software programs associated with hydraulic and/or hydrologic modeling (such as HydroCAD, PCSWMM, HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, and WWHM)
• Microsoft Office, AutoCAD Civil 3D and ArcGIS software
