Job summary

Stotz Equipment, a full-service John Deere dealership, is seeking a Shop Tech II/Diesel Mechanic in Idaho. You will diagnose and repair diesel and small gas engines, agricultural machinery, and related implements, ensuring repairs meet safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of mechanic experience with diesel and small gas engines.
• Must own and maintain a full set of tools.
• Intermediate computer skills, including use of diagnostic software and repair documentation.
• Clean driving record and ability to comply with DOT regulations as applicable.

Responsibilities

• Perform complex diagnostics, service repairs, and maintenance on customer and dealer-owned equipment independently.
• Troubleshoot electrical and hydraulic systems using diagnostic tools.
• Assemble and perform maintenance on various types of equipment.
• Maintain accurate records of repairs and parts used.
• Communicate professionally with customers regarding repair status and recommendations.
• Collaborate with Service Manager or Shop Foreman when guidance or escalation is needed.
• Ensure all work complies with safety protocols and manufacturer specifications.
• Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition.
• Support team efforts by sharing knowledge and assisting colleagues as needed.
