Job summary

Empregara in New York is seeking a Shipping & Operations Coordinator to join our Upper East Side team. This hands-on role focuses on packing, dispatching rare books, and handling couriers and customs documentation to keep the gallery running smoothly.

The position is entry-level with room to grow; one year of shipping or logistics experience is preferred, but a strong interest and willingness to learn are welcomed.

Qualifications

• Experience handling, packing or shipping valuable items.
• Strong time management and organizational abilities.

Responsibilities

• Package and prepare books, prints and artworks for shipping, domestic and international.
• Coordinate with UK team to prepare labels and docs for US deliveries.
• Liaise with couriers to ensure timely, cost-efficient deliveries.
• Deliver goods locally to bookstores, galleries, fairs and clients.
• Log all goods and maintain accurate shipping records.
• Assist with book fair setup and trunk packing.
