Job summary

IES is a national provider of industrial products and infrastructure services, seeking a Technician I for security system installations in the United States. You will assist with wiring, testing, and commissioning Access Control, CCTV, CATV, and intrusion systems under experienced supervision.

Role involves reading blueprints, following plans, maintaining documentation, and adhering to safety standards on varied job sites.

Qualifications

Minimum five years’ supervisory or managerial experience.
Minimum three years’ experience as Lead Communications Technician or similar.
Minimum five years’ experience in telecommunications or related field.
Proficient with a computer; skilled with Microsoft Office.
Must meet company driving standards.
Must define a project, scope of work, create an estimate and manage tasks to completion.
Experience using the listed trade tools for security system installations.

Responsibilities

Assist with installation of Access Control, CCTV, CATV, and Intrusion Detection Systems.
Pull, route, secure and label low-voltage cabling per specifications.
Read and follow engineered drawings, floor plans and installation instructions.
Support senior technicians with device installation, testing and troubleshooting.
Complete project documentation: timesheets, work orders, material transfers, change orders, tool transfers.
Follow and participate in safety programs and quality standards.
Maintain tools and a clean work area; learn industry best practices.
Perform other duties as assigned.
