Job summary

Louisiana-Pacific Corporation (LP Building Solutions) in Alabama seeks a production operator to run a simple sawline, monitor equipment, and maintain safety and quality standards.

You will communicate defects to QA and maintenance, complete shift reports, and keep the sawline area clean. A HS diploma and 3–6 months of equipment operation experience are preferred, with a strong mechanical aptitude.

Responsibilities

• Maintain sawline operations; including saw hog, blow detector, metal detector, and discharge grading bins and transfer chains up to paint booth.
• Observe material and downgrade defects in product.
• Communicate defects to Quality Technician, Press Operator, and Supervisor.
• Complete sawline downgrade report at the end of each shift.
• Clean and Maintain sawline area.
• Communicate downtime events to Maintenance and electrical personnel.
• Perform other duties as necessary.
• Perform all duties in accordance with safety rules and regulations.

In This Position You Will Have The Opportunity To

• Maintain sawline operations; including saw hog, blow detector, metal detector, and discharge grading bins and transfer chains up to paint booth
• Observe material and down grade defects in product
• Communicate defects to Quality Technician, Press Operator, and Supervisor
• Complete sawline downgrade report at the end of each shift
• Clean and Maintain sawline area
• Communicate downtime events to Maintenance and electrical personnel

Work Environment

Plant environment with exposure to sawdust, chemicals, extreme temperatures, and other inclement conditions.
