Job summary

Louisiana-Pacific Corporation in Hanceville, Alabama seeks an Entry Level Sawline Operator to help maintain sawline operations, monitor detectors, and report defects. The role is onsite and requires following safety rules while supporting downstream teams.

You will perform basic equipment operation, read safety rules, and complete downtime and downgrade reports, with opportunities for training and growth in LP's manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of simple equipment operation.
• Knowledge of general equipment maintenance.
• Time management skills.
• Demonstrated mechanical ability.
• Ability to read and understand safety rules and regulations.

Responsibilities

• Maintain sawline operations; including saw hog, blow detector, metal detector, and discharge grading bins and transfer chains up to paint booth.
• Observe material and down grade defects in product.
• Communicate defects to Quality Technician, Press Operator, and Supervisor.
• Complete sawline downgrade report at the end of each shift.
• Clean and Maintain sawline area.
• Communicate downtime events to Maintenance and electrical personnel.
• Perform other duties as necessary.
• Perform all duties in accordance with safety rules and regulations.
