Job summary

Goodwill Industries of Akron is seeking an entry-level Sales Associate / Cashier to welcome shoppers and donors with a friendly, helpful attitude. You will assist with purchases, operate the cash register, and help keep the store organized while delivering great customer service.

This role requires flexibility for weekends, evenings, and holidays. You will also promote our programs and member benefits, including the Goodwill Club, and support the mission to help people in the community find

Qualifications

• Ability to operate a cash register including basic math, computer, and typing skills.
• Ability to operate a cash register and count back change.
• Ability to lift up to 30 lbs.
• Customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Be the face of our agency and provide exceptional customer service to shoppers and donors.
• Greet customers with a warm smile and assist with purchases at the cash register.
• Explain and promote the Elizabeth Clark Fund and encourage sign-ups or Goodwill Club membership.
• Operate cash register/POS accurately and complete daily reports and cash balances.
• Select and price donated goods, maintaining Goodwill quality standards and store cleanliness.
• Engage with customers and regulars to build relationships and provide helpful service.
