Job summary

Mead & Hunt, Inc. is seeking an entry-level Roadway Design Engineer to join our Transportation team with opportunities in Columbia, MD; Herndon, VA; and Washington, DC.

The role emphasizes developing horizontal/vertical geometry, plan preparation, and collaboration with clients to deliver design packages. The successful candidate will hold a bachelor's degree in civil engineering, have some coursework or internship in transportation design, and be proficient with MicroStation or AutoCAD.

Qualifications

• Degree in civil engineering from an accredited college.
• Valid driver's license and willingness to travel.
• Experience with roadway design tools is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop roadway geometry and typical sections.
• Roadway design modeling using Bentley Open Roads Designer or AutoCAD Civil 3D.
• Prepare plans, exhibits, cost estimates and specifications.
• Apply or reference AASHTO Green Book and other standards.
• Assist in analysis, calculations, studies and designs for projects.
• Attend client meetings and assist in communications.
• Field observations of roadway conditions and data collection.
