Job summary

Mead & Hunt, Inc. is seeking an Experienced Roadway Engineer to join our Transportation team in the Columbia, MD; Herndon VA; Washington, DC area. The role focuses on roadway design from feasibility through final design, producing complete plan sets and 3D models.

Required: a Civil Engineering degree, 4+ years of roadway experience, and a PE license (Maryland PE or ability to obtain within 6 months). Strong communication and leadership are valued; travel and a driver’s license are expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering from an accredited college or university.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license is required.
• Maryland PE or ability to obtain within 6 months of start date.

Responsibilities

• Perform roadway design from feasibility studies through final design.
• Develop plans, specifications, and estimates for transportation projects.
• Produce roadway alignments, profiles, typical sections, cross sections, and 3D models.
• Prepare quantity take-offs, cost estimates, and design reports.
• Develop and review plan sets and design documents; coordinate with project team.
