Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; field flexible as long as able to learn and grow.
• No prior work experience required; training and mentoring provided.
• Exposure to Monte Carlo methods and risk software preferred but not required.
• Able to learn DOE project risk management practices and capital asset processes.

Responsibilities

• Identify and document risks that could affect scope, cost, schedule, or performance.
• Draft risk statements with causes, consequences, and assumptions.
• Update risk registers with owners, probability/impact, actions, due dates, and status.
• Participate in risk review meetings and document outcomes.
• Learn risk probability/impact assessment using established criteria.
• Understand capital asset project lifecycle and how risk informs planning, execution, and closeout.
• Learn cost and schedule risk analysis basics including Monte Carlo simulations.
• Gather inputs, run risk models under guidance, document assumptions and results.
