Job summary

Eastman Chemical Company is seeking a Retirement Plans Analyst to support administration and processing of 401(k), pension, and related plans at its Kingsport, TN headquarters. The role emphasizes learning, data accuracy, and collaborating with Payroll, HRIS, and vendors under supervision.

You will gain hands-on experience in retirement-plan operations, reporting, and compliance while building proficiency in Excel and data management as part of a growing team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in HR, finance, accounting, business administration, data analytics or related field.
• Basic to intermediate Excel skills with willingness to advance (pivot tables, lookups, data reconciliation).
• Exposure to SAP, HRIS, payroll systems or similar platforms; willingness to learn new systems.
• Ability to handle confidential employee, compensation, payroll, tax, and plan information with discretion.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to follow procedures and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Support biweekly payroll processing for 401(k) contributions, loans, and HSA contributions with established procedures.
• Assist with annual 401(k) RSC and employer-match true-ups including data collection and reporting.
• Support 409A processing of non-qualified retirement plan requests using SAP, HRIS, and Excel.
• Submit and monitor routine service requests and escalate discrepancies to the Retirement Plans Manager.
• Collaborate on annual HSA employer-contribution process including testing and data loading.
• Assist with DIM audits by gathering reports and documenting discrepancies for review.
• Maintain Form 5500 data collection and filing preparation with vendor documentation.
• Reconcile retirement-plan invoices and cite routine findings for approval.
• Produce recurring/ad hoc reports using HRIS, payroll, vendor portals, and other systems.
• Develop Excel skills to perform lookups and calculations and support reconciliations.
• Support retiree communications with third-party administrators and vendors.
• Maintain process documentation and checklists for consistent plan activities.
• Participate in internal process-improvement with HRIS team to reduce data discrepancies.
• Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.
