Job summary

Eastman, a global specialty materials company headquartered in Kingsport, Tennessee, seeks an SEC Reporting & Technical Accountant. The role supports monthly cash flow, prepares SOX controls, and assists with 10-Q/10-K filings while conducting technical accounting research across the group.

You will report to the Assistant Controller within the Controller’s Division and act as a floater to provide backup coverage during absences and peak workload periods.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
• 3+ years of accounting or finance experience
• Foundational understanding of US GAAP and accounting principles
• Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Teams skills

Responsibilities

• Supports the Cash Flow Manager with the preparation of the monthly cash flow statement and forecast
• Collaborates with responsible stewards on balance sheet forecasting and analysis
• Serves as backup for the preparation of the actual cash flow statement and quarterly tie-outs
• Manages complex accounting processes, including drafting technical accounting memos and journal entries
• Assists with technical accounting research and drafting summaries for senior review
• Executes SOX controls with documentation and evidence for audits
• Supports SEC team with quarterly and annual filings (10-Q/10-K) and related disclosures
• Acts as a floater across the group to cover absences and peak workloads
• Identifies and implements productivity improvements
