Job summary

Dewberry is seeking an entry level Remote Sensing Operator to join our Tampa, FL office. The role involves collecting airborne lidar and imagery data for state and federal projects, coordinating with pilots, and supporting field operations across the US.

Training will be provided for operating sensors in aircraft, with opportunities for growth within a multidisciplinary engineering firm. Ideal candidates should have GIS/remote sensing knowledge, be willing to travel, and possess strong

Qualifications

Valid driver's license required and ability to travel up to 8 weeks at a time.
Understanding of aviation, GIS, remote sensing, or GPS survey methods.
1+ years of experience in the GIS/Remote Sensing field.
Strong communication skills and ability to work independently in field operations.

Responsibilities

Collect airborne lidar and imagery data from fixed wing aircraft.
Coordinate with pilots to evaluate weather and environmental conditions during data acquisition.
Operate airborne sensors in field operations and ensure data quality checks.
Download, ship, and manage acquired data from field to office.
Troubleshoot sensor and software issues during flight and ground operations.
Perform field logs and reporting; ensure safety of equipment.
