Job summary

Staffmark Toledo is seeking a Purchasing Assistant for an on-site, direct-hire position in Toledo, OH. The role pays $20.00 per hour, with a 1st shift schedule from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. You will enter and maintain purchase orders in the ERP system and coordinate with suppliers and internal teams to ensure timely deliveries.

Entry-level candidates are welcome; training will be provided. Proficiency in Excel/Outlook/Word and basic math, attention to detail, and strong communication are essential

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Basic computer skills including Excel, Outlook and Word.
• Ability to learn ERP/MRP systems and purchasing processes.
• Basic math skills with the ability to compare quantities, pricing, and delivery information.

Responsibilities

• Enter, update, and maintain purchase orders within the company ERP system.
• Request supplier quotations (RFQs), organize responses, and support purchasing activities.
• Communicate with suppliers regarding order confirmations, delivery schedules, backorders, and shipment updates.
• Track open purchase orders and report delays, shortages, discrepancies, or other issues.
• Assist with ordering materials, supplies, tooling, equipment, and operational needs.
• Coordinate order status and delivery information with production, engineering, quality, warehouse, and accounting teams.
• Maintain accurate purchasing records, including quotes, purchase orders, invoices, packing slips, and supplier communications.
• Support invoice resolution, returns, shortages, and supplier credit documentation.
• Provide general administrative support to the Purchasing Department and assist with special projects as assigned.
