Job summary

Under supervision, you review reports, draft pleadings, issue warrants, and advise officials while ensuring integrity and confidentiality within the office. This full-time position offers solid benefits and stable employment in Michigan.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school.
• Passing the MPRE and licensed to practice law in Michigan.
• Member in good standing of the State Bar of Michigan.
• Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
• Demonstrated competence as a trial attorney.
• Demonstrated knowledge of legal research, document production and courtroom presentation.
• Ability to maintain professional integrity and discretion.

Responsibilities

• Under supervision, review police reports to authorize or deny warrant requests for criminal prosecution.
• Prosecute all phases of trials, motions, hearings, and appeals across multiple courts.
• Provide legal opinions and advice to officials on rights, obligations and contracts.
• Draft all types of legal pleadings: motions, briefs, stipulations, witness lists, jury instructions.
• Prepare and review search warrants.
• Consult with law enforcement agencies.
• Supervise designated staff, recruit and evaluate performance, ensure alignment with county objectives.
• Perform any other duties assigned by the prosecuting attorney.
