Job summary

Southland Industries in Austin, Texas is seeking a Project Engineer to grow in estimating, scheduling and design on multi-million dollar commercial MEP projects within a design-build construction process.

You will develop your skills in estimating, scheduling, and coordination with subcontractors. A four-year engineering degree or applicable experience is required, along with basic ERP, CAD, and MS Office proficiency.

Qualifications

• Basic ERP skills to include inquiring, reviewing and printing job cost reports.
• Basic knowledge of HVAC or plumbing drawings.
• Basic verbal and written communications skills.
• Basic computer skills, including CADD and Microsoft Office Products, such as Excel.
• Four-year degree in Engineering, or applicable experience.

Responsibilities

• Estimates the impact of project changes and provides information to applicable management.
• Manages change orders. Ensure they are completed accurately and tracked as required.
• Procures equipment and materials and services; and participates in the selection and hiring of subcontractors.
• Stays current on emerging trends.
• Analyzes and resolves basic questions and problems as needed
