Job summary

JE Dunn Construction seeks a Project Engineer 1 to support construction and field execution on projects using company standards, processes, resources and tools. You will help manage punch lists, self-perform work and learn through the project lifecycle.

The role emphasizes safety, quality, and collaboration with foremen, supervisors and the project team. Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience is acceptable, with on-site responsibilities and travel as required.

Qualifications

• Must be able to perform work accurately and completely, and in a timely manner
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Proficiency in MS Office and related tools
• Knowledge of organizational structure and available resources
• Knowledge of Lean process and philosophy
• Awareness of construction technology
• Understanding of means and methods of construction management
• Knowledge of self-perform and labor productivity
• Ability to assess and optimize project productivity
• Knowledge of specific trades and scopes of work
• Ability to build relationships and collaborate within a team

Responsibilities

• Learn and participate in safety and quality plans and culture
• Participate in QA/QC planning for quality of tasks
• Assist in estimating and change management processes
• Support on-site tasks with project team (materials, manpower, equipment)
• Assist with punch lists, inspections, safety reviews and documentation
• Post drawings and specifications with latest information
• Organize meetings and disseminate required documents
• Prepare reports: daily/weekly progress, manpower, schedules
• Perform site observations and provide feedback to leadership
• Create procurement logs and track shop drawings and deliveries
• Provide progress updates to support scheduling
• Assist in project close-out activities and manuals
• Apply Lean practices to regular activities
• Identify and develop self-perform opportunities
