Job summary

Knape & Vogt Manufacturing Company in Grand Rapids is seeking a Production Operator I to join our manufacturing team on 1st shift (7:00am-3:00pm). We offer competitive pay, medical/dental/vision benefits, 401(k) with company match, paid time off, tuition reimbursement and other incentives.

Responsibilities include loading and unloading parts, performing changeovers, executing shop order functions, assembling components, conducting quality checks and following safety procedures.

Qualifications

• No previous manufacturing experience is required.
• Basic reading, writing, computer and math skills.
• Ability to speak, read, write, and understand basic English.
• Ability to lift up to 35 lbs. while standing for long periods of time.
• Ability to efficiently work in a high fast paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Load, unload and hand parts into the machine
• Conduct changeovers and setups
• Perform all shop order functions, packing instructions and labeling requirements
• Hand assemble slide systems and parts
• Perform all quality functions and checks
• Follow all safety procedures and quality functions
• Inspect parts and machinery for errors
• Other duties as assigned
