Job summary

Eurofins USA Consumer Product Testing is seeking a Product Safety Engineer, Renewable Energy, to perform testing and evaluation on products for conformance to U.S. and international standards.

This is a full training role for a recent graduate or early-career engineer, under supervision, building a foundation in product safety testing while supporting the renewable energy program including inverters and EV equipment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or related field.
• 0–2 years experience; recent graduates are encouraged to apply.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and strong communication skills.
• Must possess a valid, unrestricted driver's license and a clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Read and determine applicability of national codes and standards for the equipment under test (EUT).
• Validate project scope and sample applicability.
• Set up and operate the EUT; perform and document simple repairs on the EUT as needed.
• Perform testing of products in accordance with applicable standards.
• Complete preliminary design reviews (PDR), both on and off site, as experience grows.
• Develop, set up and follow established test plans.
• Compile test results during construction review and testing. Compile data and product description and prepare the final report using the established report shell. Submit the report to a reviewer for approval.
• Communicate project status and test results to clients, sales personnel and management throughout testing.
• Provide ongoing support to clients as needed.
• Within policy guidelines, identify, properly document and recommend engineering judgments.
• Cross train on renewable energy testing disciplines as the program develops, working alongside the Senior Product Safety Engineer, Renewable Energy team.
• Perform other work as required.
