Job summary

Nutrien is seeking an entry-level Chemical Engineer to join our North Carolina process engineering team. You will provide technical assistance for troubleshooting, unit optimization, and support during plant shutdowns and start-ups.

You will monitor production data, contribute to capital projects, and uphold safety and environmental systems while collaborating with a cross-functional team. Strong communication and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• Entry-level chemical engineer with 1-2 years of experience or student co-op.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Ability to work in a team environment.
• Strong MS Office skills; familiarity with process simulation is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical assistance/analysis for troubleshooting and unit optimization.
• Support operations during plant shutdowns, start-ups, and process upsets.
• Monitor production rate, unit coefficients, downtime and availability data and trends.
• Provide process engineering support to capital projects.
• Act as steward of safety and environmental systems, and identify and report all safety, health, and environmental concerns.
• Support process safety programs such as Process Hazard Analyses (PHA) and Management of Change (MOC)
