Job summary

Hargrove seeks an entry-level process design engineer to support routine design tasks under direct supervision. The role involves developing conceptual layouts, preliminary designs, and material take-offs, with a focus on safety, constructability, and client satisfaction.

Ideal candidates hold a Bachelor's or Master's in Chemical, Mechanical, Biochemical, or Petroleum Engineering, with EIT preferred and up to 1 year of relevant industrial experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemical, Mechanical, Biochemical or Petroleum Engineering from an accredited university.
• Engineer in Training (EIT) registration strongly preferred.
• Up to 1 year of relevant industrial experience in chemical/petroleum/biochemical process design.
• Basic knowledge of chemical/biochemical process design engineering.
• Working knowledge of CAD software (AutoCAD or MicroStation).
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook; good written and verbal communication.

Responsibilities

• Assist in developing conceptual layouts and cost studies for simple projects.
• Assist in producing estimate level preliminary designs and material take-offs.
• Prepare detailed design calculations and sketches for materials of construction.
• Contribute to designs emphasizing constructability and client expectations.
• Help resolve routine layout and detailing issues with design leaders.
• Collaborate with other disciplines to ensure smooth information flow for project delivery.
