Job summary

AIRCO is seeking an Engineer I to join our Development team in New Britain, PA. You will support process development, engineering documentation, and process flow development, with hands‑on work in the lab and pilot plant.

The role collaborates with scientists, engineers, and operations across R&D, development, and manufacturing support functions. Ideal candidates have a chemical engineering degree and some exposure to process engineering, scale‑up, or technical development in industrial

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering or a related field.
• 0–2 years of relevant industry, internship, co‑op, or research experience.
• Exposure to process development, pilot plant operations, scale‑up, or process engineering.
• Familiarity with engineering, modeling, or data analysis tools such as AutoCAD, Aspen, Python, Matlab, or similar tools is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Build hands‑on familiarity with AIRCO’s lab and pilot plant operations through structured onsite training and project work.
• Work with Senior Engineers/ Technical Specialists to develop process flow schemes.
• Work under the direction of Senior Engineers/ Technical Specialists to develop engineering design templates.
• Work with Senior Engineers/ Technical Specialists to develop engineering tools for equipment design.
• Review data, schematics, drawings, and process documentation for accuracy and quality.
• Support senior engineers on cross‑functional development projects and technical problem‑solving.
• Support evaluation of new process technologies and development of process solutions.
• Analyze data and communicate findings and recommendations through written summaries and verbal updates.
• Ensuring compliance with relevant engineering design standards/guidelines, environmental, health and safety regulations.
