Job summary

Connex Education Partnership is seeking enthusiastic Unqualified Teaching Assistants to support pupils and teachers across mainstream primary schools in Taunton, Bridgwater and Highbridge.

This role offers diverse opportunities, including temporary, long-term and ad hoc supply positions. You’ll help with daily classroom activities, support individual learners and contribute to a positive learning environment, with DBS checks and ongoing support from Connex Education.

Qualifications

• At least 6 months’ experience working with children or young people.
• Child-based experience is essential for this role.
• Interest in working as a Teaching Assistant within mainstream primary schools.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Support class teachers with daily classroom activities and learning tasks.
• Assist individual pupils and small groups to support learning.
• Encourage pupil participation and positive engagement in lessons.
• Help prepare classroom resources and learning materials.
• Create a positive, inclusive and supportive classroom environment.
• Promote positive behaviour and pupil wellbeing.
• Support children’s social, emotional and academic development.
• Build positive relationships with pupils, teachers and other Teaching Assistants.
• Adapt to different classroom routines and school environments.
• Follow safeguarding procedures and school policies at all times.
