Construction Material Testing in Texas seeks a Precast Concrete Inspector I to perform plant QC on precast and prestressed concrete: checking forms, reinforcement, and strand tensioning, running fresh concrete tests, and inspecting finished pieces before shipment.

The role requires PCI Level I QC certification or ACI Grade I with plant experience, reads shop drawings, and adheres to an early production schedule. Travel between plants and per diem may apply.

Qualifications

• PCI Level I QC certification or ACI Grade I with plant experience.
• Reads shop drawings and tensioning calculations.
• Willing to travel between plants as needed.

Responsibilities

• Inspect forms, reinforcement, embeds, and blockouts against shop drawings before each pour.
• Verify strand tensioning elongation and force records against calculated values.
• Run fresh concrete tests (slump, air, temperature, unit weight) and cast cylinders per ASTM C31.
• Perform stripping and release strength breaks and record them against required values.
• Inspect finished products for dimensions, camber, finish, defects and tag for shipment or repair.
