Job summary

Veolia in North America seeks an Operator I to support the safe, reliable operation of a reciprocating engine-based power generation facility. You will monitor engine-generator units and related BOP systems, adjust parameters, and collaborate with the Shift Supervisor, I&E Technicians, and maintenance staff to optimize performance.

This role requires a high school diploma or GED, basic computer skills, and a strong commitment to safety.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Technical training in power generation or related field preferred.
• Experience in industrial operations or utilities is a plus.
• Ability to read operating procedures and manuals.
• Basic computer skills and ability to use monitoring systems.
• Strong communication and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Safely start, stop, operate, and monitor engine-generator packages and all related equipment.
• Monitor plant equipment and control systems for safe operation.
• Adjust parameters to optimize performance and reliability.
• Document operating conditions and abnormalities in logs.
• Coordinate with Maintenance and I&E staff for safe maintenance.
• Support startups, shutdowns, and planned maintenance outages.
